My journey to Yoga began when I was 17 years old.
My grandmother took me to a alternative festival where there was a room full of people practicing breath-work, meditation and yoga asana. It had me totally hooked from the start and was absolutely transformative.
I wanted to continue on my Yoga journey but at that time there weren't studios on every street corner, so I bought a dvd and a book, Mira Mehta, 'Yoga - The Iyengar Way' and I started to practice at home.
By age 18 I was at university studying Architecture which led me down a long journey into the design and corporate world, where I learnt a lot about myself, my resilience and how important it is to create balance in life.
I saw many friends and colleagues suffer burnout and severe stress and I knew that if I was to thrive or even survive that I needed to stay true to my Yoga practice and prioritise my wellness.
Yoga kept me grounded, it became my go to for self care, keeping me connected to myself and making me a better version of myself in every aspect of my life.
I studied with many different teachers exploring different styles and attending numerous workshops, totally immersed in my yoga practice.
In 2014 I decided to complete my 200 hour yoga teacher training in Ashtanga Vinyaysa and I started to teach. I discovered that not only did I love yoga but that teaching brought me so much joy. It felt like it was in my bones and I was born to teach and study and teach some more. I felt driven to share all that I had learned with as many other people as possible.
I went on to gain further qualifications in feminine practices of fertility yoga, pre and post natal yoga with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli and Yin yoga with Norman Blair.
In 2020 I found my teacher Suzanne who introduced me to the sacred text the Vijnana Bhairava Tantra, a non-dualistic Shaiva Tantric text which ignited my curiosity in non-dual tantric philosophy. From there I decided to continue my studies with Suzanne and also Christopher Wallis which I am continuing to digest and explore!
